Ashley Young signs new four year contract at Aston Villa

Tuesday, 04 November 08, 09:56 AM · Comments (16)

Ashley Young has signed a new four year contract with Aston Villa this afternoon and it is very good news, in my humble opinion.

Young is a very attractive attacking option and you've got to fancy he's going to get better with age - he's definitely one for the future and this is great news for him, the club and us fans that quite like watching him play.

Young joined us from Watford for just under £10mn. and has impressed throughout his time in a Villa shirt.

Next for Ashley has to be recognition at interntional level and don't be surprised if he travels to South Africa in 2010 with the squad.

ashley i hope your listening if you think because you have a decent salary now you can swan in and out of night clubs get a pop star girl friend and only be half interested when playing your wrong.

with that salary comes comitment.

you are now aston villa and if you want to be a success you make villa a success you are a senior member of the team and one for the other players to look up to.

if you start resting on your lorrels i will plead insanity for what i might do.

that being said well done all i think your worth it ashley ;)

Fantastic news.

Ashley Young is the one irreplaceable player in our team, and has been so for the last 12 months+.

Ashley signing up sends a signal out to our rivals (that we're prepared to make the next step up). To the big 4 (that we mean business and we're not a feeder club for you). And importantly to any young player of any ambition (that if you have any ambition, come to the Villa and play week in / week out, rather than go to the likes of Highbury and sit on the bench).

Great news.

i too think that we will be able to command a good price if somone comes calling but i still think he would go if the likes of manU OR ARSENAL came in for him
