Fans Divided Over Barça's New Striker

Friday, 30 May 08, 06:35 PM · Comments (8)

Given a choice of eight strikers, readers have been very divided on who to go for. Karim Benzema polled the most with 29% of the vote. I'm afraid to say I think it is extremely unlikely that we will get him, at least for this summer. Next was Zlatan Ibrahimovic with 21%, I think he is quite likely but as said previously he does have a questionable temperament. Third was David Villa with 19% who I also think is extremely unlikely as I think if he moves top a bigger club it will be Madrid. After that nobody got over 10% of the vote; perhaps the worst thing is that the two players who have expressed an interest in signing, Adebayor and Güiza, are the two players who received the fewest votes.

I didnt see Trezerguet on the list Nick. I have heard stories recently linking him to Barca quite strongly. Do you need see him as a possible signing?

Hilal - I ve not heard any stories of Trezeguet which is strange because he's been linked with Barça many times in the past. He will be 31 in October so may be past his best, though he did score 20 goals for Juve this season. Could he be another like Larsson?

I think Berbatov would have the best price-quality ratio. Zlatan is rumoured hotly now and pleased if he'll join us. Yet, I'd like to sign Berbatov because I PRESUME his more motivated and has the ambion we need. Zlatan, Berbatov - they're quite a like actually.

i really hope its not guiza thats for sure. im sick of saying this but ppl need to STOP lusting over benzema. he isnt coming. and honestly how many ppl have watched him enough to really know. im confident to assume most here dont watch french league (cause its awful), and have only seen him in CL. he def looks a superb talent and his physique is a bonus, but with his price tag and only one season of productivity, its risky. drogba is a great player but he is old already, we dont need another aging, dying star, i think we have one of those already. plus his attitude is SOOO annoying and his diving makes me sick. hell no to adebayor too. i admire his talent and thought he was sensational at arsenal for a while, but he also has a shit attitude, very cocky, and no loyalty whatsoever.

zlatan personality issues are worrying. we have TOOO many big egos already. the roni deal leaving seems to have halted so having him, henry, and zlatan all fighting for spots with their attitudes and egos!!!. pep doesnt need to deal with all that garbage on top of his pressures being a world top manager so soon in his career.

i agree with the guy above me, berbatov is a great option. he suits our style. has unrivalled technique, clever player, and he is big which is what we need. and he would want to prove his worth out of a smaller club than us.

but keeping etoo would be my best option for sure. even bringing in trezeguet, which i have read about a few times hilal, to supplement the attack and giving it aerial threat could work.

I think either sell Eto'o and buy Berbatov or just keep Eto'o.

I prefer to keep Eto'o to be honest as I think for our stupid 4-3-3 formation we need him up front. If we change to 4-4-2 we will be unstoppable with Henry and Eto as strikers and Messi and Silva/Hleb/Ronnie on the wings...

eto`o is well adapt with our formation and tactics.
but if he deny to show his best again,
just like he say "i don`t have any desires to score for barca again"
so, why we should keep him stay with us?
just find other forward who will replace eto`o
and give his very best for barca!
