From the depths of the hat came a used bus ticket with ODM crayoned upon it.
A packet of digestives or a substitute prize of equal or greater value will be dispatched within 37 working days.
Dawson was a rock yesterday, looked well with that armband...
I was a bit dissapointed with Lennon, he could of ran at L.Young a lot more than he did.
Its good to see us coming back from 1 down away from home.
Bullard is a legend BTW.
We should buy Bullard.
I think that was an awesome performance. If we play like that, with that grit, strength, determination and blu-loo, we will be there or thereabouts come the run in.
Very impressed with the lads, very impressed indeed!
Niko was MotM.. very impressive... i can only assume Harry took him off coz he had ran out of steam... he looked rather disappointed to be taken off...
but yes, him and Mod should link up quite tastefully (if that's a word..)
The first half was rather frustrating owing to our carelessness with the ball.
The second restored my confidence - we looked good, really good. And I thought Jenas came on and did a good job.
When Modric is fit Keane won't get a game.
Awsome Dawson deserves a special mention, don't you think Harry? He was, eh, awsome. I really like the idea of him being a future captain. And don't give me that crap about him not being good enough. The boy can fight, he's great in the air and he is certainly good at playing the ball out of the defence.
I was really pleased with the performance yesterday, coming out like that away from home and staying on Villa's half most of the time. Deserved to win. I believe a similar attitude would destroy Everton.
COYS!

'awesome' is too strong a word to use... sure, we owned the ball in second half but i think with a bit more ambition we could have won this won.. and won it easily.. Villa had nothing...
and yet we were in a situation where Heskey was inches away from stealing three points... i don't think it should have come to that... we could have been out of sight with just that little bit of extra ambition..
not too many complaints though.. was still quite a good result....
awEsome, even.
*won this one..

Jenas won't get a game, i think you mean...
Reply to Bimmi:
Agreed. Villa were shit and I see it as 2 points dropped. Villa had one shot in the second half. The confidence was heartening but we need to start winning a few away if we want top four.

Oy Vay and it's not even my birthday.
I thank you from the bottom of my bottom
Although we didn't get the second goal this was a big performance of the like usually associated with Chelsea or United. Something huge may be occurring.
Arry got most things right but replacing Niko with PSB made no sense. I would be grateful if anyone can point to a match where PSB playing wide left actually worked.
All we lacked was a Cantona or Ronaldo to create something out of nothing but had Modders been playing .............
My cousin went to school with Bullard in the Erith/Bexleyheath, Kent area. Apparently Bullard was very happy at Fulham so I'm surprised he left for Hull. Not sure if he's that much of a step up in quality on what we already have, plus he seems to be injury prone but he is a very good player and character.
I wouldn't mind if we went for Fellaini from Everton, maybe in a swap for either Hutton or Bentley?
onedavemackay, I've seen Villa against Man C, Liverpool and Chelsea this season and none of those teams have dominated them like we did yesterday. Shame we couldn't get the 3 points but like you say we still have our most creative player (Modric) to come back into the side.
Reply to onedavemackay:
Thought Keane looked lively when he came on. Niko was the wrong man to go off though. Really needed to take the Crouchie toy away from the other lads because they JUST CANNOT HELP THEMSELVES when we're chasing a game and he's playing up front.
Mixed bag for Harry on the subs today, I felt. Wasn't sure about JJ for Wilson, but I could see the reasoning. JJ ended up playing well, so Harry's vindicated there. Keane for Kranjcar, though...meh. Right player on, wrong player off.

Hard to believe they'll get nothing out of this game, but -frustratingly - that could be the case...
Come on Saha score the equaliser and pull your hamstring in the process.
Bollox.....how undeserved was that 2nd 'Pool goal? The football in this match has been so poor it's like watching Villa vs Villa.
Bit harsh on Everton. Jammy Bindipping gits.
We seemed to be playing in treacle for the first half yesterday, but I think after a slow start it is very harsh to criticise our overall performance.
In years gone by we would have just capitulated after going one nil day away from home
But not this team. On any other day we would have beaten them 2/3/4-1, but the gods were with them and somehow they scraped the draw!
Walking away from the ground, there was not doubt amonst the Villa fans to who were the better side yesterday. Their fans were praying for the whistle and you would have thought they had won the league, when all they had done was to win a free-kick 30 yards outside our box...
The future sure is bright and has mentioned earlier, with the addition of Modders this would have been a comfortable 3 points and job done!
Daws, Kranjcar were top draw. JJ as usual was useless!
more spunky than the houston 500. bastards

Davies and Etherington - shame they're not playing for them
Tee hee hee hee hee. Unlucky, Woolwich!
So, two quick goals by Chavski against the Scum, looks like third is ours for at least the next week.
Why are Peterborough nicknamed Posh? Have you been there? Posh it ain't
lovely stuff....3rd is ours(nearly)
I get that warm glow watching Arse lose, kind of like all the good things about Xmas really

Once 3MP is off the pitch the boys curb the high ball and the Keane-Defoe pairing earlier in the season was quite productive.
So Arry takes off our best player ..........
Poor old Arse
This gets more and more fun!

There is a time to lump and a place it to Crouch's head but the guy is pretty useful on the deck. They have to forget he is 6ft 12".
Anyway, he (Mr Crouch) is a good guy to have around the team. Unfortunately, this is where Pav doesn't contribute in not speaking the lingo and being a bit thick.
NIce to see Arsehole Whinger talking absolute shite in the post-match interview and Jamie R saying so back in the studio!
Thudd has the opportunity of a lifetime right in front of him now. We know what he can do but I want to see him going in where it hurts a bit. Knock a few over. He's got the phsyique to frighten a few. Go on lad get stuck in. You know it makes sense.
Reply to steve1987:
Why have Newcastle come in for him?
Reply to onedavemackay:
I'm struggling to see what 3MP brings to our play to be honest - he's not that great in the air or at hold up play so lumping the ball to him is a pointless exercise which has become fairly obvious.
If we had matched last seasons results against the top 3, stoke & villa we would be at the top level on points with cheatski now.
Modder's injury has been a major hindrance and we need him back asap. Everton next week and they need a seeing to. Watched them today and they're like bolton
"Really needed to take the Crouchie toy away from the other lads because they JUST CANNOT HELP THEMSELVES when we're chasing a game and he's playing up front"
Sheer poetry!
Results wise a pretty good weekend only the scousers letting us down.
Have to say I thought Spurs were great yesterday and it always seemed that we would get the equaliser then go on to win the game. Didnt quite happen but the performance did smack of a top four team. We wore Villa down and they were hanging on at the end.
This performance more then any other this season has made me believe top four is a real possibility. Special mention to Dawson who even without the goal was fantastic. The tackle on abonglawhore was simply terrific.
Top four ? Top 3 FFS.
Super proud of ours Spurs yesterday.
That was a real top 4 effort. Arry did his bit at halfers and they came out and the ball was fizzing all over the deck.
Krankie was (alongside daws) our MOM. You can tell this guy knows how to play the game. A&E was poor offensively...always looked for 3MP, defensively he was excellent. Did Ashley Young play??
This time last year that result would have been 1/2-0.....if Man Shiteh dont get players to improve their back 4 then we can achieve top 4...of that there is no doubt
A Proud Spurs Fan Indeed
Crouch should only be used as a last resort. Nice bloke and all that, but he's the weak link in an otherwise strong group of attack minded players (Krank, Modric, Defoe and Lennon).
Another striker needed.
3MP, PSB and Pav; no good.
A&E should have been taken off in the first half he was that bad. Luckily he improved, unlike Wilson
Has anyone heard any news on him, because Wilson looked either ill or hung-over!
WARNING: Blasphemy ahead.
Next week against Everton, if Moders is fit. I'd leave him on the bench.
To accommodate him you'd have to either drop Kranjcar - which is crazy talk - or move Modric inside at the expense of Huddlestone. and he's played well enough to merit a stay of execution.
Thoughts please.
Reply to Scott :
Agreed, he's been out for a couple of months now so will need to be eased back in to build his fitness. Hopefully he'll be back to his peak in time for Xmas & New Year fixtures.
I would start with the same team against Everton, except perhaps King for Bassong or Woody for Dawson if either are fit.
Reply to jfdit:
This s nothing new 3MP has never been the best headerer of the ball. Must say that some of the final balls into the box for him though yesterday were not great with BAE displaying this on numerous occassions. All in all i am happy with the result. Villa are not a bad team and we have been undone by worse before... but to take the game to them especially on their own turf made me a little bit disappointed we didnt get all 3 points
Oh by the way.... if we drew with Chelsea - they would have dropped 2 points so we would have been top. But then again if statments are about as meaningful as...... whatever theyre bollow

my point is that we have been really unlucky losing key players for key games and if we had been at full strength the title race may have had 3 teams in it rather than two.
We need to start giving more teams the wigan treatment. Villa were lucky to get a point and we made them look second rate. We need to do the same to all teams who are put in front of us if we want to be serious contenders.

The transfer window will be bedlum this year, cheatski will do business for the sake of it just in case their ban does happen, man citeh will change their manager and who knows? The arsewipers and the bindippers will also want to salvage their seasons some how. Manure if their second will also spend big.
'arry and levy just need to tweak - one or two really decent additions or don't bother in my view.

If, as many critics say, his all around center forward play can sometimes be lacking, it's probably because he spends too much time in training working on stuff like that.
His finishing ability makes Defoe look like Aruna Dindane.
Reply to Scott :
There is nothing to think about.
Modders is our best player and the one player capable of opening up any defence at any time. Had he been playing yesterday there would have been a far greater possibility of us winning it.
He is first on the team sheet

Don't agree that JJ was useless -after he came on we looked much stronger going forward & not for the first time!
Reply to onedavemackay:
I look forward to Modric and Kranjcar playing together. The biggest letdown in the last couple of weeks has been Wilson, who seems to be in supreme funk at the mo.
Palacios does seem a bit off, I think mentally he is fatigued and needs a break. I'd like to see him next to Jenas for the next few matches since at least JJ has the legs to cover for him, or maybe even JJ next to Hudd
I prefer Keane and Defoe up front for away games, Crouch just doesn't offer enough to me to justify using him as Plan A, and we always suck when we long ball (not Crouchie's fault, our own players need to contain themselves). I'd like to see the movement offered by Niko, Keane, and Defoe, I think it could overwhelm Everton, who put in a brave performance today but lack pace as a team; then again, they were good in the air so maybe Crouch is needed on set pieces.
I’m enjoying tissues in my nose as much as everyone else but continue to find frustration in the form of one Tom Huddlestone – am I alone on this (I ask having inexplicably not posted in ages)? There’s no doubting his fantastic talent, such deft touch reminiscent of my personal no.1, Glenn Hoddle. But at what cost does the team enjoy the occasional gorgeous ball or cracking goal from the boy? I may be alone, but find he gives the ball away far too often by virtue of slow play, overambitious attempts and casual flicks, the latter two in growing frequency at increasingly inopportune times when we’re attacking in numbers with players open, while vulnerable to the counter. But I think Thudd’s laissez-faire play is even more typified by his inability to move quickly off the ball. If he were more effective in this regard, we’d better penetrate the final third and the majority of his passes that do find white shirts wouldn’t be overwhelmingly Zokorian in their lateral and backward direction. He’s just not dynamic enough, a vulnerability usually only exploited by our fellow nosebleeds, but I think apparent most weeks.
I’m fan of the talented boy. Keep him. He’s a fantastic and improving squad player. But barring centre-half (I pray Woodgate’s groin will one day heal) central midfield is the one hole in this squad that truly requires upgrade. Until ‘Arry wheels in our very own Lampard/Gerrard, I suggest we play the potentially invisible Jenas in Huddlestone’s place. I seem to remember a decently effective midfield late last year w/ Modric Jenas Pelacios Lennon. And when Modric comes back, I say play him and Niko, leaving our squad players where they belong…
The Serg. is gonna have me for that 'e'
Reply to Lilywhite:
I actually thought Huddlestone had an OK game. Not great, but he was definitely more in tune with the world around him than he normally is in that type of pressured game.
Everyone was giving the ball away in the first half an hour such was Villa's tenacity in denying space, and although there were a few occasions after that period where Huddlestone lost the ball, they were far outweighed by the amount of times he didn't.
Dynamic he isn't and never will be, but in games where it's a better idea to have two deeper lying midfielders, I prefer him to Jenas, although even he (Jenas) did OK as a sub, but that's enough about him.
Ultimately though, it would be great to put the JJ/Hudd debate to bed in the interest of, as you pointed out, a midifield of Kranjcar, Modric, Palacios and Lennon.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them both up their games up a notch or two now the Kranjcar/Modric penny is finally dropping, but for me, it's too little too late.
Reply to onedavemackay:
But put him where? inside to replace huddlestone. or back in his normal position and put kranjcar on the bench
Reply to BruceCastle:
If I had the trouble in my life that Wilson has in his. I'd be in a bit more than just a funk.
Reply to Lilywhite:
I totally agree, its amazing how people can see the same player so differently.
The bloke has shot his bolt, get him gone!
Give him space and he has got great vision and a lovely touch, but he is way too slow and immobile for top flight midfield opposition!
If we are to be real top for contenders, then we really need someone alongside Wilson to share the responsibility of closing down strong midfield's!
The real test of this theory is, who out of the top 4 teams would have Thudd in their first eleven on a regular basis?...None in my opinion
I would be happy to keep him, but not to the detriment of a real enforcer in dare I say the Veira mould!
And in answer to the post saying that JJ had a good game against Villa, I would ask you to watch it again. He frequently broke down our attack, by taking the easy sideways/backwards pass rather than a through ball or a strong run.
Reply to Scott:
"his normal position" isn't on the wing, he filled in there for us. He's a central midfielder, best used behind a front pairing to unlock defences. Kranj stays where he's been playing.
Reply to Scott:
Well I would play him behind a striker but even on the left he's very dangerous. Then you fit everyone else in around him.
