Owen Hopes To Lift The Premiership Trophy

Michael Owen has won the prestigious Ballon d'Or but now he aims for a Premier League winner's medal.

"It's something I think about a lot. When I was first asked to sign for Manchester United, I went to bed thinking about what it would feel like to join a new club and meet new staff and new players."

"Playing under Sir Alex was also a big attraction and I thought about how good it would feel to run out every week at Old Trafford and play in front of so many people."

"But the big thing for me was the chance to win honours. Manchester United is such a great club and I’d love to be part of a league-winning team."

Meanwhile, John Heitinga of Everton does not blame Nemanja Vidic although he needed four stitches in an eye wound after being caught by an elbow from the Serbian in an aerial challenge.

"I have four stitches and it was an elbow. But we were both in the air and I don't think it was deliberate. Vidic said sorry afterwards. It's football, it can happen."
