Another 3 Points. Because That's How We Roll Now

Monday, 19 October 09, 10:31 AM · Comments(23)

To be a Portsmouth fan. Doesn’t look terribly fun at the moment, does it? Despite Aruna Dindane’s best attempts to shoo them away with his skyward finishing, the dark clouds are most certainly roaming down at Fratton Park; the whiff of saline sea air has been replaced by one of fear and loathing. Paul Hart carries the look of a man preparing to slip on his Wellingtons and ally-oop into the shallows before the ship takes its inevitable plunge.

Cripes.

Like all trips to the seaside in October-especially when the locals are a touch on the glum side- it’s important to be efficient with your time. No-one wants to be there, so it's probably best to just roll up your sleeves, build a pissing sandcastle and get the hell home before the depression sets in again. Three points and then move out. And let’s not lose anyone on the way back to the car, shall we?

While we didn’t manage the last objective-courtesy of Jermain Defoe’s petulant flick of a plimsoll- we did generally make a day of it. Holding firm through Pompey’s second half offensive; thwarted in no uncertain terms by the brilliant Gomes. My, how relieved I was to see him back tending his allotment again. As I know many of you’ve noticed, the man is the cat’s pyjamas. The dog’s blinkin' whiskers. When it comes to agility and finger-clicking- reflexes, there’re few better than the Brazilian. Good to have him back. We’d be a few points short if he wasn’t.

Elsewhere, part time Spurs favourite, Adel Taraabt, is making us look a bit foolish with another dazzling turn down at Loftus Road. While you watch the man in action, making Preston look like they’re playing in space-suits,  perhaps re-write your Christmas list and put ‘a safe January return for Adel’ at the top of it. Oh god, did I say Christmas?

*shudder*

Spurs are flying at the moment.

More of the same, please.

We're playing very un-Spurs-like at the moment: hard to beat. Tough. Even away from home.

What's going on, and when am I going to wake from this beautiful dream?

Gotta give special mention to Gomes - the boy is class and will only get better. In goalkeeping terms, he's still a baby - and yet people are bang on his case on certain websites.

In keeping with the photo, Just call us butter because we're on a roll!

Good call on Octo. He is back to his crazy-eyed best. We draw that game at best if CC was in goal.

On JD, if you're going to get tossed for having a stomp, then have it! With the crap interweb feeds, I couldn't see the match until later on Saturday. And what do I see? A mincy little tap! C'mon!

I'm not saying JD shouldn't have walked; it was pretty obvious. But if you're going risk getting sent off, it should leave an impression on the other guy.

JD should be embarrassed twice over. For losing his cool, and for that sissified "stomp."

I'm also liking Niko more and more on the left. Maybe in a cup game, we could experiment. I would like to see him out left, with Luka in the PSB spot. I could be wrong, but I think Luka would be huge in that role.

You're right about Nico. He looks like the signing of the season. My how our transfer dealings have improved since Arry arrived.

As for Heuralio he is top notch and we might have even lost without him.

Great, innit? It's funny, as Harry's deals are less exciting than the "exotics" brought in by the Dame, but they are plenty solid. I'll take more solid pros to go with the existing flare.

Haha! I said that when I was watching MotD.

++++ Government Stealth Warning: Not that I'm advocating petulant and violent on-pitch behaviour, least of all stamping ++++

But jesus, he didn't so much stamp as tread tenderly on the bloke.

It was almost childlike.

Loved the reaction, too - took the guy a minute to realise what JD had done, so he decided to feel the "pain" extremely late, and roll around like he'd been plugged by a sniper.

What a pair of Michaels, I say.

Bonus points for clutching the wrong leg, as well. Presumably the sheer agony overcame him, and he was temporarily confused as to which leg had been shattered by the cru-el violence of JD's blow.

Shades of Faubert at the Eastlands a couple weeks back. That was brilliant.

Maybe it's the lawyer in me talking (and shut it, you little bastard!) but no photos show anyone pissed out of their minds, or even drinking at all. I don't think 'Arry banned bad dancing. Could be all about nothing.

Potentially uncertain times for this old blogerooney.

Thanks to a difference of interest between OleOle and Newsnow, the latter have decided to withdraw any OleOle blogs from their news engine. This is rotten luck for me and other of my kind as a large percentage of my trafffic is generated through the NN portal.

Hopefully things can be resolved, but if not this old Fox might have to find a new burrow. I may even have to get all .com on your ass.Whatever the case, I'll be doing my darndest to keep the thing afloat as I've grown awfully fond of you all and your terrific banter.

In the meantime, things should be running as usual.

Very best.

I was wondering what was up. It's the same on HH.

Good luck Fox. Keep at it. The banter's always good here.

I love this place.

Foxy - I was a designer in my previous job, and have a lot of experience getting websites up & running, give me a shout should you need any help or advice.

Also, a cheaper option than registering a new address & finding webhosting is maybe to switch over to blogspot?

Not sure what your plans are, but if I can help in any way, I will.

I think it was our Trembly who likened this place to the kitchen, ata party, where all the cool people gravitate to. I like that analogy, and I don't want to lose my kitchen, dammit!!!

Cheers, SSG and K. Appreciate that. Really. 8)

As I said, things will be running as usual while I consider my options. I am currently in talks with one of my computer literate freinds with the view to set up a brand spanking new website. If I can buy the rights to the whoframedruelfox.com web address then the wheels should be in motion pretty soon.

Kay, a very kind offer. 8) Any input would be brilliant as my web desing skills are verging on disabled. I may very well be in touch.

So, yes, things are moving on. Hope you will all stick around for the changes. And, as long as you pay your membership fees you will be more than welcome at the new ranch. ;)

New post up later this aftenoon.

Shamone.

If you wanna pay for the domain name/website address (I recommend these folks LINK ) I can arrange freebie webspace. :)

Just looking up whoframedruelfox.com - it'll cost (if you go through UKReg) £8.89 per year, but you get a free whoframedruelfox.co.uk domain with it as well.

I think the price drops the more years you buy together, if that makes sense.

Bye!! :)

This new kitchen is sounding swankier by the minute.

Oooh, I wonder if it'll have those pop out cupboards without handles?

Man howdy, that'd be swell.

If you're serving up nachos and lovely, lovely lager along with Spurs rap, save me a seat in the kitchen.

Oh, and robot sex waitresses, yeah, definitely robot sex waitresses.
