The robot. Few can deny it’s a classic move. Night clubs all around the world have bear witness to the sight of drunk middle-aged businessmen crooning their way across the dance floor like C3PO’s handicapped brother; mechanically drinking cups of tea, waving, pulling rope or, if they’re feeling particularly maverick, the robo-handshake.
Vintage stuff.
Sadly, if these photos are to be believed, I fear our very own Peter Crouch might be overworking the routine slightly. Call me Captain Buzzkill, but there’s playing to your strengths and there’s milking the cow dry. Take Exhibit B, for example. Peter, so keen to show the public he’s still a contender, has literally clambered out of the car’s sun roof to have one last voyage through the robo-sphere. ‘Look! It’s me Peter Crouch…..and oop.’
‘Hey-oh!...’
Don’t confuse this with me having a pop at our lot for celebrating the weekend’s triumph. After all, as one of you keen eyed folk mentioned yesterday, there’s little to suggest that they’ve even succumbed to the motion potion. Ominous stains in the crotch region might suggest otherwise, but, for all we know, it was spritzers all round. Okay, so J-Wood should probably be at home putting his feet up with a cup of Ovaltine, but the rest of them: I wouldn’t deny them an evening of considered relaxation. As long as the points keep gushing in like an open tap. If you’ll excuse the phrasing.
No. My gripes are fair more trivial. Crouch, for the love of god, get some new moves.
It’s getting weird.
Here’s a few I prepared earlier.
Shamone.
A hearty expedition into the mind of a troubled, easily swayed Tottenham fan.

Woody looks positively demonic in that pic.
Like a Sith warlord or whatever they're called.
Darth Woodgate.
Maybe his groin has twanged mid-joust.
He certainly looks like a man having some difficulties down south.
Has 'Arry actually banned boozing? Last I heard, he was just considering a ban. I think he's concerned--rightly--about appearances, given Ledley, Bently, Hutton, Gio et al doing the stupid after downing sweet likker.
In the top pic, it looks like 3MP is trying to cast the daemon out of Woody.

Talking of demons, have you seen this video before?
Ssshhpooky.

The music creeps me out, too.
Why have all the good blogs been take off of newsnow?

Yeesh
Do you know if he actually died?
On the dancing, while I appreciate the comedy value of the lads and their St. Vitus dancing, where were the WAGS? Did Ms. Clancy refuse to shake it, leaving 3MP to cut a rug with Woody? Were the ladies dancing with each other, and, if so, why were there no pictures of that?
I'm getting a bit excited at that last thought!

Apparently not. But there was some Arabic hoodoo propaganda speil doing the rounds. According to one source, the Angel of Death came down and took his soul. His body doing the fandago was an attempt to resist it.
As you would.

Because I punched some kid.

As long as the kid needed punching, you're on legally solid ground. *

Or if you wanted to change music that also legal ground for assault.
Anyways, I always wondered why Woodgate was never a vice captain maybe he has this side to him or if it was the looming injuries or he just likes to try on peoples. ( I can't do the clicky thing)

i don't want to fall out or anything, but i don't think he is doing the robot in any of these pics, there are no flat palms of the hand....it's just normal dancing to me.....
and i wish crouch would do the robot celebration every now and then when he scores....i loved it for england and all the papers/pundits that bullied him out of doing it becuase they've lost or never had a sense of humour really piss me off
i hope the lads enjoyed their night out, good for morale and fuck the mail and all of them negative ninneys....
up the spurs....sorry don't want to spoil the mood in the cool kitchen,i liken it more to a cosy sunday lounge after yummy roast with a flickering fire.....far away from strange flaming wummers....that seem to want to annoy normal posters.....
has anyone else heard this song.......it popped up on the old shuffle(best invention ever) after i loaded up about 200cd's.....my brother loves the saw doctors.......but i'd never heard this one......
LINK
should be sung by us yids shouldn't it,maybe they already do but i can't recall it.....get to the end of the song for the crowd....
about the oleole blogs on newsnow.....i'm not sure but have you seen how many blogs there are, quite a few and most of them get no comments, maybe they got annoyed or something....
if you ask me oleole wants to get a bit more modern, you can't embed anything in the posts for a start,as far as i can tell, can you tell me if you can,it is 2009

your right, PC is not doing the robot (as it's know in the biz)he looks to me as if he is having a go at the old, WHHOOOOOOOOOO I'm movin like a crazy Mother,
As for Woody he has he look of the receiver of a 4 inch Suppository, to help with his convalescence.
I also secretly want to see Crouchy throw some of his crazy robotic shapes, as long as he doesn't become addicted and buys a smoke machine and practice in his Mums garage....LINK
In fact that's how I think of this site, me and hundreds of my "friends" in my Mums garage, dressed up in rolls of tinfoil, listening to the very worst of Kraftwerk..........
I need to get out more.......
Reply to KOJAC:
Amen, brother!
I got annoyed by them a few months back - I painstakingly made a bunch of custom Spurs graphics for my profile page, and it looked ace.
They then took the site down for maintenance, and all my carefully applied formatting went out the window - what's more, they won't let me re-style back to how it was.
THANKS a BUNCH, OleOle!
Also, in the "my favourite blogs" bit - my three links (this one, HH and Perez Shilton) keep being removed, and I have to keep re-adding them.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm into double-figures now I've had to re-add them so often.
Grrr!
Reply to KOJAC:
How very dare you!
Just kidding. You're are right, of course. There isn't too much robot action going on per se, I guess its just his dodgy dancing in general is getting a bit old.
But hey, maybe I'm just being a square.

I once went to a party where the host had lined the walls with tin foil. I think he was trying to emulate the sparkly aesthetics of a club.
It was like Fabric.
oleole are doing it for free as far as I'm concerned (I stop all the annoying banner ads being displayed) so I'm not too fussed with their performance so far. It's really in their best interests to step up because if they don't, someone else will. It's a decent enough medium, but the people posting are better and the regulars will move if there is better.
Early to mid Eighties is when Breaking and Popping was first huge in England as far as I remember - I recollect almost breaking my neck at a first attempt of a head spin. These boys are over 10 years younger than me and so I'm intrigued that they attempt these moves. Could it be that they're secretly b-boys in their spare time and have copies of 'Breakdance' and 'Beat Street' on video?
"My name's Pete Crouch and I'm the Robot master. You try to pop it and I'll pop it faster." Erm, perhaps not.
What about "Wildstyle"?
It was about '83 when robotics, breaking, graffing and general b-boy-ism swept through Edmonton. I fell in love with the culture and have never outgrown it - I don't break, but I can mix, scratch and emcee. Rah!
Public Enemy were my generation's Sex Pistols. Their album "It takes a nation of millions..." is a seminal piece, rarely equalled since.
It's a shame how crap most modern hiphop has become. People like 50 Cent and Eminem have ruined a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Gio is allegedly the latest player to be snapped out on the tiles.
Maybe it's just me... but who cares?
As long as it's not the night before a game, I say good luck to 'em. Especially if they're celebrating a win.
Christ, when you hear or read the stories of Jimmy Greaves and co (or even the Tony Adams/George graham era Arsenal team), it puts our current mob's antics in perspective.

Went to France on a schooltrip in those days, and the big thing was smurfing or 'le smurf' I think it was called.
Agreed about the quality of rap that gets spewed out these days, but the dancing (apart from this crump crap) has gotten alot more interesting. Have you seen the rd bull beat battle series or the BC one competitions they have now? The quality is mind blowing.

Sorry KayBee. I've got to disagree with you here. The game has evolved so much now that it's a lot more scientific and every part of the game is analysed, health, fitness and lifestyle as well as the footballing side. Like Arry said, the odd glass of red with a meal is alright, but any club sessions, late night appearances that are acohol fueled aren't. The main controversy in my book is that we're letting the redtop jamrags get away with 'articles' that misinterpret the actual events. Gio's was a family related get together as far as I can tell, whilst theres nothing definite (although photographically damning) to say that woody and cr'Ouch were off the wagon.
All said, just because we're paranoid, it doesn't mean that everyone is not out to get us. We're an easy high profile target for the cretinous paps, and have way too much coverage in comparison to the other PL teams for it to simply be a coincidence.
alcohol fueled is even worse apparently
Reply to KayBee:
Eminem, 50 Cent and the like have bastardised the good name of hip-hop. (Early Eminem is good) But in truth I wouldn't even label it under the genre, I'd call it rap. Whorey commercial rap music.
There is still some good stuff out there though, hip hop wise. You just have to wade through a truck load of radio 1 bull turd to find it.
Are you familiar with the Nextmen, Jhest or Stig of the Dump?
Man tha' shit is tight.

I have the same problem. I can only have my own blogerooney in the favourites, which just looks bloody vain. I've tried to add HH and LOTW and others but the bastards wont let me.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was saying; there's still great hip-hop around. Just, IMO, the majority of the better artist are, to excuse a horrible cliche, 'underground.' The stuff that you hear in the charts that is supposedly labelled under 'hip-hop', most of it is pretty lame. I suppose I umbrella that with modern RnB really aswell. It's all quite generic.
The artists you've named are hugely talented, though, and Jay Z is a bloomin' genius. I love the fact that he never writes anything down, he just has a head full of rhymes.
I do like Eminem; his lyrics, particularly his earlier stuff (Role Model etc.) is quality. You should check out Jehst or Del the Funky Homosapien for equally bright wordsmithiness.
Jehst is basically some pikey from London who just happens to have the vocabulary of a bard.

Yes I'm slim, no I'm not single, no I'm not busty; I'm rather understacked in that department.
I'll shout again next time I'm at WHL for a game - I got blown out last time.

YAY! UK love!!
Nextmen are great.
Jehst is one of the finest lyricists I've ever heard. As is Chester P from Task Force.
Gotta love Dubbledge as well - I LOVE this "grime" parody LINK - great video also.
As far as US hiphop goes, The Roots, De La Soul, MF DOOM, Ghostface Killah & Ohmega Watts are some of the small handful of artists left worth listening to still.
Reply to KOJAC:
Personally, I only like Biggie out of that lot.
Tupac is the single most overrated rapper ever - although I am a fan of Digital UNderground, so I can't dislike him THAT much.
For me, hiphop was best between, roughly, '88-94 - it all started trending downwrds after that.
I stopped listening to US hiphop for years until MF DOOM rekindled my love for it sometime around 2001-ish.
